Emotionally charged ramblings from a Student of Life.

Don't say I didn't warn you.

I love Balloons.

Thanks again to Kristin#1 for introducing me to these. Seriously folks, I almost choked on lunch laughing at this one.

Classic!

This one is a little long, but seriously...what kind of crack is this guy ON?!!

Mind Warp.

To give you a sense of the significant mind warping our studies produce, please watch the following video with the understanding that it makes us pee in our pants.

Coming into home plate.

We closing in on the end of the semester...the pressure is ON.

For those of you who send me postive thinking (JoAnne!), my exam schedules are as follows:

7/21 - Histo #3
7/28 - Anat Lab 4 & Lect 2
8/6 - Anat Lab final
Finals Week
8/11 - Anat lect final
8/12 - Histo final
8/13 - Nutrition final
8/14 - Physio final

Yes, you counted right. That's SEVEN exams in less than 30 days.

Thankfully a lot of the material overlaps...but still. What the F.

Sorry I haven't kept up with the lesson of the week....I'll look for something especially special in my histo notes and get something posted soon.

Much love to my readers (all 3 of you), see you in TWENTY SEVEN DAYS!!

Marriott Madness!

My folks came down this past week and to welcome them all of my friends graciously accompanied them to the Marriott Resort where they were staying.

We ate well, drank well (hmmm, most of us anyhow), and baked to a nice golden tan.

And at the risk of sounding way too small-minded, might I say it was very different to be in a place where we were no longer the minority. It was also, however, sad to realize there are many people who travel to resorts such as these and never see the natural beauty, history and culture inherent in these islands.

Okay, enough talking...on to the pics!

Correction: The Adventures of A THIRTY YEAR OLD Wandering Vet Student.

Yup. That's right. Thirty.

I have to admit, I was a little depressed thinking about spending my 30th birthday "alone" on a foreign island, away from home and friends and family. This is THE birthday, the one I've always thought of as some sort of milestone. The birthday where I stopped being a kid and became an adult (HA!).

In retrospect, I suppose it was appropriate to celebrate such a milestone birthday in a new place with new friends and new experiences (body shot anyone?). As Joanne and I have often said, this is the Year of Change! So while I truly did miss all of you back home, I have to say I would not have traded this birthday for all the world. It was celebrated with some very new but already close friends whom I adore and will forever remember with smiles.

Besides, it isn't every day when your friends will all take a shot of Caribbean moonshine to celebrate your birthday but exempt you from taking it with them due to previous alcohol consumption! (thanks for that Arvind!)

Enjoy the pics!

Here are a few choice videos from the evening, all very entertaining.

Taking a body shot off of Nicole's belly. Since it was my first time she forgave me for not sucking the spilled liquor up as well...

I'm a not-so-closeted-Brittany-addict. I waited all night for a Brit song to play...and then they cut it off. Note my threat to Nicole at the end; she is NOT a fan. Sorry it's sideways.

What do you get when you put 10 vet school friends who just took moonshine shots on top of lots of alcohol into a van with Uncle Millie for a 20 minute drive home? That's right.

Sing-A-Long Lion King.

(Warning: The following videos are very dark, not much to see. It's the audio that is priceless. Well, at least to us it is. To you all it may very well just be a symphany of pain.)
