Yup. That's right. Thirty.

I have to admit, I was a little depressed thinking about spending my 30th birthday "alone" on a foreign island, away from home and friends and family. This is THE birthday, the one I've always thought of as some sort of milestone. The birthday where I stopped being a kid and became an adult (HA!).

In retrospect, I suppose it was appropriate to celebrate such a milestone birthday in a new place with new friends and new experiences (body shot anyone?). As Joanne and I have often said, this is the Year of Change! So while I truly did miss all of you back home, I have to say I would not have traded this birthday for all the world. It was celebrated with some very new but already close friends whom I adore and will forever remember with smiles.

Besides, it isn't every day when your friends will all take a shot of Caribbean moonshine to celebrate your birthday but exempt you from taking it with them due to previous alcohol consumption! (thanks for that Arvind!)
