Where in the Caribbean is Sprat Net?

It seems not everyone made it out of the hurricane with spectacular flair (such as we dorm rats).....my favorite restaurant on The Rock has been broken in two. Quite literally.

Beacon of yummy goodness.

Sprat Net is located on a cliff face overlooking the gorgeous Caribbean Ocean, about ten minutes from Ross U. The restaurant is an open deck design, partially covered, with a basic kitchen that you order from, and the most fantastic cakes to partake of after your fabulous fish/ribs/lobster/shrimp/chicken dinner. The road that leads to Sprats was partially destroyed by erosion and a rather large boulder that tumbled down from the cliff face. And Sprats itself lost half of their deck/restaurant, the part that hung over the edge above the sea.

From what I understand, most of this is gone... :(

This whole table area may not be there anymore. Weird.

This happens just one week after they re-opened for the season. Our wait for Delicious Sprat Net will just have to continue into next semester.

For those who are interested, I'm going to put together a slide show of the "aftermath" from Hurricane Omar. Please note that the pictures are all 'borrowed' from my classmates, as my camera is still DOA until further notice. I'll try and have it up by tonight or tomorrow, but as always...no promises :)

On a different note, though not at all happier, my classmate Laura seems to have contracted The Dengue. Of course, we can't be sure because no doctor will admit to the possibility that she's infected with the virus. Seems some people here live in La-La land where infectious diseases don't affect their little island. Laura has been home for the last week and a half, bored out of her skull, with a mild to scary fever, rash, and sore muscles. I do hope she gets better soon, before they whisk her away to the states.....
