Emotionally charged ramblings from a Student of Life.

Don't say I didn't warn you.

The Holiday Inn of Dorms

Our dorms consist of 5 buildings, set in a circle surrounding a nice courtyard and overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. They are rather modern from the outside, but once inside you could be in any middle range hotel in America. The rooms are sufficient, and while I understand the logic of no carpets (too much sand being tracked in by the drunk students returning from the beach bars) the linoleum floors are a bit impersonal. Sort of feels like someone dropped a bed in the kitchen.

The Halls of Tegreman Hall

How much did I love dragging over 160 pounds of awkward luggage up three flights of stairs? About as much as I loved finding the elevator, getting really excited about being lazy, and finding the damn thing isn't even ON. Sweet.
But all is well when I gaze upon the view from my windows.

I will admit that it is now Wednesday and I only just tonight made my bed. Not just that it was messy before...that it had no sheets on it. I was soooo tired the first couple of nights (and possibly subconsciously not sure about my future) that I just laid a sheet on the cheap bedspread and tossed a blanket over myself. But the room is done, the luggage is emptied, the bed is made (mom would be proud), the school supplies are organized.

Yes. These are my ghetto-fied shower curtains. They installed the bars too high, so the curtains don't hang low enough and all the water drips out of the shower. So I improvised. Good thing I brought along various colors of yarn so it matches!

My idol, sitting in her place of honor.
